Women Fighting Weight Problems

Let's stick together and fight this out! Yes, it is a support group. But it's a lot better loosing weight with someone than losing weight alone.

1.sleeping more= burns fat more,so don't stay up late at night
2.not eating= result to yoyo diet.because you will end up eating a lot at the end of the day.
3.eat fruits more than carbs! but i didnt say that you eliminate all cARBS.
4.WATER IS VITAL! DRINK WATER MORE THAN TO EAT A LOT.
5.ENJOY YOUR FOOD =MEANS TO EAT SLOWLY AND SMELL IT TO BE SATISFIED AND FEEL FULLER WITH EVERY BITE.
6.EXERCISE IS THE KEY= " tHERE IS NO FAT PEOPLE!ONLY LAZY ONES!
_To our good health! ^_^ -zalyn

You need to remember that some of us have physical limitations that make it hard to exercise. So sometimes it's not laziness, but an actual physical problem that keeps us from being active. I agree you should be as active as you can be, but please don't lump us all together as being lazy.

Gained too much when I was pregnant with my 6 month old son, and after birth I indulged too much in comfort food - fatty, ready-made meals & chocolate mainly. My exercise regime was limited to strolls with the pram.
A few days ago I decided that time is right to change! I want to be back in the shape I was 3 years ago - absolutely fit and weighing 56 kg, wearing size 36 loosely, and looking great!
-I started by cutting out all caloric drinks - allowed are tea, coffee (black), lemon water.
-During the day I stick to fruits, veggis, soup and yoghurt. And in the evening when my boyfriend comes home after a hard day of work - I have a full dinner (even some sweets are allowed).
- and: some home-workout whenever time allows!
Next weighing: 9th of April - am curious how well it works!

USE the elyptical trainor, walk uphill, use staitionary bikes ask about yoga classes
GARCIA818 previous month
Walking and yoga are good to start with but only you can figure out what's keeping you from going. I find that I do best when I make it a part of my daily routine. If it's on my calendar it keeps me from blowing it off. Even if my schedule changes I make an effort to at least get a short walk in.

I love food and I love new recipes! I have to be honest much of my success with keeping the weight off even with my exercise inconsistencies has been Pinterest.com i have found such great recipes there. I found fabulous ways to prepare quinoa which is an awesome protein packed grain. I'm not eating much bread or pasta anymore but if I want them or a recipe calls for them I'll have them but it's becoming a rstity. I highly recommend quinoa especially if you are a carb lover! Pasta love it but loving spaghetti squash and slicing zucchini into noodles even more!

Breakfast for me is key!  I love porridge with fruit and this is so filling that I don't snack before lunch.  I have an incredibly sweet tooth that can be difficult to manage.....  I find Greek yoghurt drizzled over fruit with a splash of honey will kill the craving (and is yummy)... last night had cantaloupe melon as chosen fruit.

One habit, I will give up as part of healthy eating is chewing gum, a habit formed to stop me reaching for chocolate but now is a habit in itself!  I really don't want to calorie count (more calorie awareness and of course self honesty) and need to incorporate meals around the family.  Best purchase - slow cooker!  working shifts, couldn't be without it and great for disguising veg for those in the family who swear they wouldn't eat 'x'.

Any other healthy ideas for my sweet tooth would be most welcome

I started eating breakfast regulary since I changed my eating habits and it helped me a lot with my weightloss. I love to have Muesli with fresh fruits, high fiber cereals or porridge.
I try to avoid white flour and just take wholemeal instead. I eat much more veggies and fruits. If I have chocolate, I don't eat it in between meals, but as a dessert. I always have dark chocolate - when I allow myself from time to time to eat a piece of dark choc, the craving stops...
In the evening I eat a protein meal to help the metabolism burn more fat. This could be fish with some veggies, a salad with turkeybreast or sonething like that...
Like Garcia818 I also love to look for healthy recipies on pinterest.

Hello out there,
I'm from Germany, 34 years old and struggle with my weight for severel years now. I was fit and lean until I was 25, then I started to gain weight, for I had serious depressions for a long time. Since I got over my depression last year, I started to eat healthy and exercise in January. Until now I lost 6 kg - but since 20 days now, nothing happend - it seems I arrived on a plateau. So I registered here to keep me motivated. It helpes me a lot to go to the gym more often.
Now I'm looking foreward to get motivated by this group! Keep going everybody! It's a long way, but it's worth it!
GARCIA818 previous month
Welcome! Don't stress about it you probably just need to increase the intensity of your workout to start seeing the weight come off again. You can do it!!
lovis288 previous month
Thanks for the welcome Garcia! I already increased my workout intensity and I fixed some bugs with my diet... and today, I had a little weightloss... that's a good start!

I've had a tough year, that's for sure! I've been at this though 11 months and I'm in the same dang spot. It's the on again, off again that gets me...and my love for amazing food. I have got to get it together and get a move on! How do you stay motivated in tough times?
GARCIA818 previous month
I found myself dealing with this same question today. I do so well and then I just stop exercising.  #1 reason is when I don't get enough sleep, #2 when I've started a crochet or craft project. #3 I don't like to workout by myself. What I decided is that I will go to sleep on time no matter what, I can DVR any of my favorite shows that sometimes I stay up too late watching. I will allow myself one hour an evening to work on any project I have going on and I will put it away each night so it does not tempt me in the morning.  However #1 focus is to move so I'm challenging myself starting today to 30 minutes a day for 30 days!  It does not matter if I do the whole 30 minutes in one shot, or three 10 minute workouts a day or two 15 minute sessions just as long as I get moving and once I go that month straight with my routine I know I'll stick with it!!  Maybe you could do the same to kick start yourself!!

It is HARD, and most of us have been there, or are there now.  If we quit dieting for awhile or exercising for awhile, we just have to remember that we can just get back up and try again, and again, and again.  I LOVE food, and it is tough to exercise as one gets older, but we have to keep trying and trying until we finally get it right!

I ahve started the exercise and diet but i really did not weigh myself as i find itextremely discouraging .. is that insane ?
GARCIA818 previous month
Nope not insane at all. i think it's insane when people weigh themselves everyday and stress if a pound is gain. I find weighing in once a week works for me but maybe if you are not comfortable with it you could do it every two weeks or monthly.

Hey, fellow group members! I actually started on a fitness and weight loss program a couple of weeks ago. Thus far I have lost 4 pounds. Ok, it isn't a STAGGERING amount, but it IS a start. No, I don't really feel it in my clothes yet, which is disappointing, but...if I keep after it, I WILL get there, and I know that all of you can too. It gets discouraging for us older women with less physical strength and ability, but we CAN do it, boys and girls!
penguinless 2 months ago
4 # is staggering 3500 calories times 4 that is alot of fat crying! Good job keep it up it shows disipline.

Thanks!  I hadn't thought of it that way, but it makes me feel even better!

slow and steady is best for weight loss if you don't want it to come back.  Well done on your weight loss - don't be disappointed, often we are the last person to notice the changes happening to our bodies.  The shift must start in our minds, taking control is the key.  You have made that decision that you want something different and we are here to share the journey with you.... and support you to your goals.  I recently downloaded the NHS couch to 5k running ipods to my mp3 player.  Starting at week 1, I found this very encouraging and helpful.  I have never done running and find the programme really at the right level for an absolute beginner.  If I can do it, anyone can....
barbie.siewers previous month
Good going!  I used to run for fun, but it was YEARS ago, so I would have to start out at the beginner level now.  All in time, all in time....Have to learn to crawl again before I can walk, mush less RUN!

Sometimes our achievements are beyond the pounds on the scales but in finding ourselves again and doing things that we love, wearing things that we love and loving ourselves that little bit more too.  Every journey starts with a single step

Just need to say I am so sick of calories. I am sick of counting them, sick of how fast they add up, sick of wanting peanut butter and remembering is 276 calories for a tablespoon! A tablespoon is a pitiful amount, cant even enjoy a bowl of celery with that amount....rawrrrrrrr!

Rant over for now, thanks for listening
penguinless 2 months ago
Here is the secret to the peanut butter wean Mix sweet potato with peanut butter, cinnamon and bannana mix one teaspoon with 1 whole bannana and one quarter cup of sweet potato. Eat that on your celery, but tell yourself each time you do this to decrease the peanut butter by 1/2 until you do not crave it anymore. This is the science of weaning taken from the science of titrating. If you want you can tell yourself you need to do one hour of cardio before you can eat
GARCIA818 2 months ago
This journey has taught me a lot and I'm at a point where I no longer have to count calories. I know what I can eat to stay within my daily calories. The only time I count them is if I know I'll be eating out. I do not deny myself any food, if a craving comes up for a high calorie food I will have half or less of a serving size and savor each bite. That's the trick enjoy every bite don't think about the fact that your eating less of it.Honestly counting calories seriously  was a big part of my past failures. Vent, vent,  vent that's the biggest help of all!!!

Thanks guys, just needed to say it to make myself feel better. I have hit 41 and I probably am dealing with a declining metabolism, and I am not running 1/2 marathons anymore so my running milage had decreased dramatically. Sometimes the frustration just takes over, but I appreciate the support more than I can say!
penguinless 2 months ago
I know what you mean , either I EAT 1200 CALORIES, OR run 90 minutes and do 90 minutes of strength training a day, or else I gain
